Who We Are

AnchorApe is a link building and SEO services business operating at anchorape.com. We are based in Canada and subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Mailing address: 60 Hamlyn Rd Unit 125, Suite 68, St. John’s, NL A1E 5X7, Canada.

What Data We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run our service:

  • Information you provide: name, email address, billing details, target URLs, anchor text preferences, and any other project information you share with us when ordering or contacting support.
  • Account information: if you create a dashboard account, we store your login email and authentication state.
  • Server logs: IP address, browser type, referrer, and pages visited. Used for security, abuse prevention, and performance monitoring.

We do not collect or store full payment card details. Payments are processed by Stripe; Stripe tokenises your card data and shares only limited information with us (such as the last four digits and a transaction identifier) to help us reconcile orders and handle refunds.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide to fulfil orders, communicate about your campaigns, answer support requests, issue invoices, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Where we send your data to a service provider (a processor) in order to operate, those providers act on our instructions and are listed in the “Service Providers” section below.

Marketing Email Consent (CASL)

Because AnchorApe is based in Canada, our marketing emails are governed by CASL. We only send commercial email to people who have given us consent — for example, by signing up for our Link Building Crash Course, subscribing to updates, or requesting information as a prospective client.

Every marketing email we send includes:

  • Our legal name and mailing address.
  • An email address where you can reach a human.
  • A one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

Transactional and service emails (order confirmations, delivery notifications, invoices, replacement updates, password resets) are not marketing messages under CASL and are sent for as long as you have an active account or open order with us.

Cookies and Tracking

Our site uses a small number of essential cookies for things like keeping you logged in and preventing duplicate form submissions. These are always on because the site cannot function without them.

We also use a limited set of analytics and advertising cookies to understand which pages and which paid-ad campaigns bring real customers. These are off by default. The first time you visit, you will see a banner where you can accept or decline this category. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and we will not load Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking in your browser. The site behaves the same either way.

The non-essential providers we use are Google Analytics 4 (audience analytics), Google Ads (conversion measurement for paid search), and Meta Pixel (conversion measurement for Facebook and Instagram ads). We do not use third-party trackers that build cross-site profiles for purposes other than ad measurement. You can clear or change your choice at any time by clearing the aa_consent_v1entry from your browser’s site storage.

Service Providers

We rely on a small number of third-party providers to operate the site and fulfil orders:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Supabase — authentication and database.
  • Brevo — transactional and marketing email delivery.
  • Vercel — site hosting and edge functions.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and DDoS protection.
  • Google (Analytics 4 and Ads) — only loaded if you accept the cookie banner.
  • Meta (Facebook Pixel) — only loaded if you accept the cookie banner.

Each provider has its own privacy policy and maintains its own security program. We only share the information that is necessary to carry out the relevant function — for example, sharing your email with Brevo so that it can deliver the email you subscribed to.

International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers store or process data outside of Canada (for example, in the United States or the European Union). When your data is transferred outside Canada it is subject to the laws of the receiving jurisdiction, which may allow government authorities to access it under local legal processes. We choose providers that offer industry-standard protections and contractual safeguards, but you should be aware that this cross-border processing takes place.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as we need it:

  • Order and invoice records — for as long as required by Canadian tax and accounting rules (generally seven years).
  • Account data — for as long as you have an active dashboard account, plus a short period afterwards for dispute resolution.
  • Marketing email subscribers — until you unsubscribe, at which point your record is deleted from the marketing list.
  • Support correspondence — generally up to 24 months unless a longer retention is required for an open matter.
  • Server logs — typically 30 to 90 days.

You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing info@anchorape.com, subject to any overriding legal obligation to retain specific records.

Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected.
  • Withdraw consent to our use of your personal information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions).
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we have mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@anchorape.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Security and Breach Notification

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure.

If we experience a breach of security safeguards that poses a real risk of significant harm to an affected individual, we will notify the affected individual and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA.

Children

AnchorApe is a business-to-business service and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
